Sure, he's miserable, he's rotten, and sometimes he can even make you sick, but he's talented and anyone who's ever been in the same emotional gutter can testify that.Bukowski is not only in touch with the most basic and (sometimes) disgusting human feelings, he explores them, plays with them, always with the bitter laugh that characterizes his writing. Brutally sincere in his somewhat misanthropic view of the world, this lost soul might not be properly appreciated by the more sensitive ones.
